sweet smell of fall

monday i smelled it. that wonderful, blissful smell of fall. it's a breath of fresh air because you have a glimmer of hope that texas will feel cool, despite the deathly heat of summer. with that smell i just crave all things fall. especially starbuck's pumpkin spice latte, scarves, my mom's pumpkin and cream cheese icing cake, tall leather boots, fluffy blankets, and warming your buns by campfires.

my macbook

a couple of weeks ago i purchased a new macbook pro. it was a much needed investment as my old one was dying a slow and sorrowful death.

whoops. guess i didn't realize how long it had been since i blogged. i'll get back to it...you know, with all the time i have between finding a job, working on projects, trying to soak up senior year, studying for tests, the list could go on. and i need to do a post on my trip to cali. can't wait to tell you all about it!

have you ever used fuzzy soaps before? i can't stop looking at these cute handmade soaps wrapped in soft wool. i think these are so cute and i'd say these would make for the perfect stocking stuffers.

yes it's true. next week the forecast in texas is temps in the 60's. i really can't wait any longer for fall.

kitchen art

oh how i love simple paintings of food to spice up kitchen walls.

i once tried to do just that - paint a pear for the kitchen of my college house. but it ended up being a disaster and was hidden in the stairwell and dubbed the name "the pear."

but how lovely are these? i'd use these over the pear any day.

i love birds (i have owned a total of 7 over my lifespan) and i love art. i am always looking to incorporate both in my room at home. doesn't this children's room look magical? if that were my room, i would have spent hours in "lala land" (which i commonly refer to as my childhood)

teeny tiny jewelry

so i'm really into tiny jewelry. and i mean really, tiny. i think it is so cute and delicate to wear the smallest ring or any itty-bitty charm on a necklace.

i love it because it's not something that stands out and instantly draws attention to itself. but you have to really look hard and take the time to appreciate it.

it will become quite evident, but i absolutely love etsy. in my spare time (which is NEVER), i either go to some food recipe site or etsy. i could just browse all night. anyway, i recently bought two of the smallest pieces of jewelry that i would like to share...

i once got told that this ring looks like it should contain a jewel that fell out. haha! i still love it anyway
