new biz

ahem

now introducing my new side business...designing blog headers! i've always loved dabbling in graphic design for fun. for a while, i thought about skipping out on the business world and going straight to art school (when i saw the price, my dream wilted like a flower in the hot texas sun!)

so, i would like to present my first piece of work for a dear friend of mine, caroline. she was one of those super cool girls who jumped on the blogger bandwagon a long time ago (way back in 2008!). her blog is witty, genuine, and filled with the wise words of a talented writer. i suggest hopping on over to her site here!

PLACE project

ok, i have to get to california somehow. this just came out...there is a new development in the makings in ventura, cali that connects artists with the community with the environment. it's an eco-friendly building project that allows artists of all kinds to set up shop for affordable prices. would you want to visit there?

yesterday was font day for design*sponge blog. and they are presenting a contest for you to design your own font and have a shot at getting $500.

that means my doodles during class will be all about fonts. can't wait to start designing!

this magazine makes me marvel. they call it a "magazine for the creative and curious." that in itself makes me want to flip through its pages.

since each issue is $18, i'll have to settle with admiring it in the digital world. but oh the design and photography in this magazine makes me swoon!
