texas wedding

i've been away from the blog lately. the last month has been a whirlwind of busyness as i almost landed my dream job. but no, God seems to think i need to learn some more lessons on endurance and patience. so it's back to the job hunt for me. and a daily reminder of the promises in romans 5:3-5.

i stumbled across this texas ranch wedding on oncewed. the reception was held at one of my favorite restaurants, which is about 5 minutes away from our ranch on possum kingdom lake. it seemed like a dream wedding with twinkle lights, drinks in mason jars, and cowboy boots.

today i spent 8.5 hours straight in the library finishing a paper. so i'm in the need for a treat...and a work out. i could feel myself turning into a blubbery blob with all that sitting.

how do i reward myself? by browsing wedding pictures...take a look at this one. i loved how in almost every picture, the eco-friendly bride had the same face that was bubbling with joy.

all about balloons

today while i was sitting in traffic, i watched a lonely green balloon drift up in the sky.

i love balloons. i love them because they are whimsical. i love them because of they show up at the happiest moments--a celebration, a birthday party, a boy asking a girl to prom, a carnival.

when i was younger, i used to fill ballons with water and pretend they were pets. i would keep them in my sink and name them silly names.

maybe one day i can use them as a save the date

wouldn't this be a magical book to read to children? its about a man who discovers an island while traveling on a balloon.

rainy day

today was a monsoon of a rainstorm. and who do you think got caught in it on her lunch break?

yours truly (wearing white).

however, i did meet another unfortunate girl who decided to wear a white tee today. we stood outside jamba juice for approx 3 minutes sipping our smoothies and waiting for some gap in the downpour (which didn't occur). it was during that time that i noticed how she was watching the sheets of rain like it was the best thing she had ever seen in her life. she was completely amused that she was caught in a rainstorm while running her errands. and for that short time, i too got a kick out of the predicament i was caught in. yes, i was a little cold and slightly annoyed that i hadn't checked weather.com this morning to advise me on my attire. but, that random jama juicin girl inspired me to take joy in the those moments that catch you off guard.

i do think her predicament was slightly a bigger deal that mine earlier today. although it is dreamy having a stormy-weathered wedding, isn't it?
