can't get this out of my head...waste by foster the people
ever since the song pumped up kicks skyrocketed, i've fallen in love with their whole album (thank you grooveshark). the guys from foster the people wanted to promote awareness to teen violence through their music. so not only are these guys awesome because of their rad mission, but they are also cutie-patooties! seriously, check out their vid.
"finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. and the God of love and peace will be with you."
it's saturday morning, and i'm still studying. i have in fact planted myself in panera, right next to the fake fire. this song came up on my pandora mix and i absolutely love it. so relaxing and soothing amidst the painful process of memorizing contract laws for my business law final. and how serene is the music video?
enjoy your saturday, and do think of me, here studying my life away.
what's getting me motivated to study? the 3 new christmas mixes i have downloaded for free in the past week. here's where you can find them:
target is giving away 14 funky and fresh songs here.
my sweet friend jillian edwards recorded a song for an album that benefits the kenya mission project here.
and one of my favorite blogs, hearblack, has compiled their mellow christmas mix here.
download. listen. enjoy.
(also free, this hand-lettered gift tag in the above photo.)
"he received honor and glory from God the Father when the voice came to him from the Majestic Glory, saying, “this is my Son, whom i love; with him i am well pleased.”
the album leaf popped up on my pandora station for study-cramming sessions, and i was in awe of the album cover. they are absolutely beautiful, don't you agree?
"i led them with cords of human kindness, with ties of love; i lifted the yoke from their neck and bent down to feed them."

p.s. happy birthday kenzie. you are so dear to me and i have been so blessed by our friendship in these past 11 years. you are truly wonderful.
p.p.s. does this remind you of one of my past blog posts?
so i recently had to download google chrome because safari isn't feeling so hot lately and won't let me access my baylor email. let me tell you, it's so great. you can personalize your page so that it has cute designs on the top bar (does that even make sense?) and i have to believe that it's faster.
anyways, arcade fire is working with those smarty pants over at google chrome and made this awesome music video. check it out.
"whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates correction is stupid."
this weekend was good. fun times with with friends and lots of laughter.
it began with the grease sing-a-long. and oh boy, was it well worth that $10.50 you have to pay at northpark. my cousin emily and i could NOT control our laughter. it was just too good to be true: a bunch of people packed in a movie theater, singing their hearts out, and attempting to mimic the hand motions.
oh i wish i could post the video i snuck because it is just TOO good! but dear blogger.com thinks the file is too large for my posting.
saturday i got to spend some time with my sweet friend julie who was in town for the weekend. after a delish lunch at breadwinners, we came upon this funky place and created our very own, one-of-a-kind friendship bracelets. it was so so fun and i highly recommend it to anyone feeling especially crafty. the great thing was, it was cheap! my bracelet set me back a whopping $8.50!!
looks like a million bucks, huh?
lastly i leave you with a snippet of this band that did a little gig at my church saturday night. let me tell you, they were ultra cool! (need i mention they are from california!) my dad was so inspired, he purchased not 1, not 2, but THREE of their cd's.
"he said: "o Lord, God of israel, there is no God like you in heaven or on earth—you who keep your covenant of love with your servants who continue wholeheartedly in your way."
since buying real cd's (yes ones that require you to physically touch in order to get on your computer) is soooo 1999, i'm going to share the top ten album covers i am currently loving...
"[for the director of music. of david the servant of the Lord. he sang to the Lord the words of this song when the Lord delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of saul. he said:] i love you, o Lord, my strength."
